Temida — Review of March, 2024

The queer association Temida is a queer-activist, left-wing trans community organization that organizes, works and fights to create a safe, equal, dignified political, legal, and social environment for trans and queer people.

Here is the overview of Temida for March 2024:

  • Three community meetings were held in March within the framework of the Temida project “Rainbow Refugee Project“. The first meeting was about harm reduction practices, the second meeting was led by an invited psychologist, and at the third meeting, the organization’s peer-educator informed the audience about gender affirmation services and procedures available in the country. The mentioned project ended in March, and during its ongoing period, Temida offered assistance to members of the internally displaced LGBTQ+ community affected by the ongoing armed conflicts in the region.
  • On March 31, Temida held an event dedicated to Trans* Visibility Day in one of the local queer spaces, within the framework of which the presentation of “Bianca” magazine was held along with drag shows. “Bianca” magazine is the first experimental publication, the theme of which was “The Body: Danger and Opportunity”. The magazine contains the textual work of ten trans* authors, reflecting their perspectives and experiences. You can pick up the printed version of the publication at the Temida office, and the electronic versions of the texts included in it will be gradually posted on the organization’s website from the beginning of April.

In addition, we remind you that the temporary housing service of the organization is still functioning and offers temporary housing to members of the LGBTQ+ community, people living in a violent environment and/or in other crisis situations. If you need the service, you can call +995 800 000 180 or send an e-mail to the organization at any time. Email: [email protected]. Detailed information related to the service can be found at this link.
