Grindr users will be able to order HIV self-tests, condoms and lubricants without leaving the application. Equality Movement posted information about this.
Grindr is an online dating app designed for gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people in general. The app was launched in March 2009 for gay men and has since become the most popular gay mobile app in the world.
According to the Equality Movement, the specially designed Selftest Express system allows Grindr users to order more easily. Equality Movement has been actively cooperating with Grindr for several years.
“Within the cooperation, we are trying to increase the access of community members to existing services. At the same time, we will ensure the mobilization of the community,” the statement says.
Equality Movement works both on raising public awareness and on strengthening the LGBTQ+ community and advocating its rights. Free testing for sexually transmitted diseases was already possible in the organization, along with other services. Testing was also done for HIV/AIDS, syphilis, hepatitis C and B. In addition, you could get free condoms and lubricants at the organization, but after the collaboration with Grindr, these services will be available to queer people without leaving their homes.
