According to the resolution of the Government of Georgia , women aged 27 to 45 will be able to be vaccinated against papillomavirus. As part of the state program, this change was included in the government’s resolution of December 30, 2022, and the new resolution was published on September 19, 2023.
Women in the age group of 15-45 years will be able to receive the vaccine with a doctor’s recommendation. Within the framework of the state program, three-time vaccination is possible according to the following schedule: 0-2-6 months, in the same age group.
The resolution states that the minimum interval between the first and second doses should be at least 1 month, and between the second and third doses – at least 3 months.
In addition, vaccination is free for 9-15-year-olds as well. They will be vaccinated twice with an interval of at least 6 months.
According to the document, boys in the age group of 10-26, can also receive the HPV vaccine according to the following scheme:
- In the age group under 15 years old – two vaccinations with an interval of at least 6 months;
- In the age group of 15-26 years – three-time vaccination according to the following scheme: 0 – 2 – 6 months. Similarly in this case, the minimum interval between the first and second doses should be at least 1 month, and the minimum interval between the second and third doses should be at least 3 months.
The resolution entered into force immediately after the publication, on September 19, 2023.
